Shelving & Bulk Storage

Store rooms that hold more and stay tidy

Boltless light-duty shelving through to heavy pallet racking, plus mobile compact shelving that runs on floor tracks to recover the aisles. This is the least glamorous part of the range and often the highest-value: most store rooms we survey are holding half of what the same floor area could take.

Quick answer: shelving & bulk storage in Singapore

Boltless light-duty shelving through to heavy pallet racking, plus mobile compact shelving that runs on floor tracks to recover the aisles. This is the least glamorous part of the range and often the highest-value: most store rooms we survey are holding half of what the same floor area could take.

Passive storage with mechanical locks. Keyless access is available where it earns its cost. Bay widths, depths and beam levels are configured per run, and a store room is almost always better served by mixing sizes than by ordering one size throughout. Heavy racking must be floor-fixed and loaded within its rating — we will state the rating in writing and mark it on the bay.

Standard configurations

These cover the large majority of enquiries and are the fastest and cheapest route to a delivered installation. Anything here can also be made to a different size.

Standard configurations and dimensions
Configuration W × D × H (mm) Notes
Light-duty boltless shelving 900 × 450 × 1800 Around 100 kg per shelf, assembles without tools
Medium-duty shelving 2000 × 600 × 2000 Around 300 kg per shelf
Heavy-duty racking 2000 × 600–1000 × 2000+ Pallet-rated, bolted and floor-fixed
Mobile compact shelving 1000 × 600 × 1800 per bay Runs on floor tracks — recovers the aisles, roughly doubling capacity in a records room
Stainless steel shelving 900–1200 × 450–600 × 1800 For kitchens, wet stores and clinical areas
Library and reading shelving 900 × 450 × 2000

Dimensions are stated as width × depth × height in millimetres throughout this site. Factory drawings often mix conventions, so confirm against the dimensioned drawing issued with your quotation before any builder’s work is committed.

Shelving — questions we get asked

How much extra capacity does mobile compact shelving really give?

In a records room, close to double — because in fixed shelving roughly half the floor area is aisle that exists only so you can reach the shelves. Compact shelving keeps one aisle and moves it, so you are paying floor rent for storage instead of walking space. It suits material accessed occasionally by a few people; it suits a busy store where several people need simultaneous access much less well.

Does shelving need to be fixed to the floor or wall?

Light-duty shelving standing against a wall at 1800 mm is generally stable when loaded sensibly with the weight low. Anything tall, anything free-standing in the middle of a room, and all heavy racking must be fixed — a toppling loaded bay is a serious injury. We include fixings and bracing in the quotation rather than treating them as an optional extra, and we would rather lose a job on price than install an unfixed heavy run.

Can you survey a store room and tell us what would fit?

Yes, and it is the most useful half hour in the whole process. We measure the room, note the door and ceiling constraints and the sprinkler and lighting positions, ask what actually gets accessed weekly versus yearly, and come back with a layout and a bay schedule. Ordering shelving from a floor plan without that visit is how store rooms end up with bays that will not fit through the door.

Send the wall length available, the largest item that has to fit, and roughly how many people will use it. That is usually enough for an indicative figure before anyone visits — and we will tell you if a different family in the range suits you better.
